I've been intrigued by Abelton for years but it's very expensive software and all of the video demo's I've seen are by kids doing rap/hiphop/EDM stuff. The majority of all us old farts on this forum can't stand that material so we never get past that. Nobody was demoing anything that was even close to what we like to do.

In my case I spent an afternoon a couple years ago holding my ears and watching hours of Abelton vids. It does "appear" that it "might" be useful for the antique styles of music we all talk about here but there were zero online demos of that. Modern music doesn't have the verse, chorus, bridge song sections we're used to. Yeah I know I'm being a bit harsh but in the modern world 40-50 year old music is antique just like those of us who grew up in the sixties considered 20's ragtime, Jean Harlow and all that stuff antique.
