My wife goes in for the ablation heart procedure to eliminate her A-fib one week from today. Could definitely use some success stories and, of course, lots of prayers for her to get through this. She is 71 and has controlled it for years with meds, but A-fib kicked back in recently and the electrophysiologist strongly recommended her having the ablation procedure done!!
I hesitated to bring this up on our BIAB forum, but one key thing I've learned over the past many years is that you guys are so very caring, understanding and compassionate......CANNOT BEAT THAT!!!
Thanks for any and all insight about ablation (good and bad)!!!

Cecil,

I can't help with your question but am glad to have your wife, and you, in my prayers. Would you mind sharing your wife's name with us?

Hopefully you will give us updates concerning her journey.

My wife is being evaluated for this very same thing. She has been diagnosed with SVT, Supra Ventricular Tacicardia.
They are doing more evaluations on her diagnoses to confirm that is exactly what it is and if so, the most likely remedy is the ablation procedure.
Apparently they go up a main artery in the groin area and electro/lazer zap a small area heart tissue. In her case this is to get the inlet and outlet of the heart into the proper timing. What happens to her is either the heart is able to pump out blood faster than it refills or vice-versa. When this happens, at random the heart starts beating rapidly, although not deeply. Then she becomes extremely fatigued.
They tell us that these surgeries are very successful at solving the problem with no long term medications needed afterword. But, approximately 1/100 need a pace maker installed after the surgery. I take that as meaning the surgery did not work and the remedy for the failed surgery is install a pace maker.
Fortunately we live near movie star land (Coachella Valley,CA) where many of the best doctors in the world come to capitalize on the wealth.

Please add Luana to your prayer list.

Cecil, what is your wife's name?

Oh my, I'm very sorry for your wife's troubles and I have no info to offer. But if you would like the diversion of a little laugh, I totally misread your post.

On my iPhone, the lines of the subject broke in a way that it didn't make sense. I thought you were asking for someone who used a music program called Ablation (hey, it sounds plausible, doesn't it?) to give you some success stories to convince someone who was spreading lies (a fib). Couldn't have been a worse misinterpretation!

Best wishes, Cecil.

Procedure was yesterday. Everything went according to text book. Surgery was under 2 hours. Afterward one attending physician asked if she had people praying for her. She said yes. He said he could tell.
Stayed in hospital for recovery from 11:am until 4:30. We went straight to Panda Express since she had not had food since Wednesday. This morning she said she felt like she had more energy than normal.
I already know I'm going to have to keep her from doing too much for a week or so. She wants to paint several rooms in the house.
Thanks for all your prayers and concerns.
