This man's ideas have certainly had a big influenced my life. Synths, keyboards, midi standard, FX pedals, amps, too many things to mention.
I'm saddened to see him go.

Here's a song I wrote back in the 90's recorded in 1997 on ADAT with my very first drum machine. The Roland TR-707. I think it held something like 6 songs. To make more drum tracks I would back up my drum file data to a track on the ADAT or DAT similar to a MIDI Dump. If I accidentally played back that section of tape it sounded like an old fax machine shaking hands at high speed.

Sad to see world great's pass.

I only trust my many regular donations to his company gave him a somewhat comfortable life.

Rest Ikutaro, and thanks.

I've used just about all of Roland's MIDI synths along the way. Still have the Integra-7, an amazing product.

I bet it still works flawlessly too. Have you tried it lately?

I have a Boss ME-5 pedal, purchased barely used in 1989. From what I remember it was the first ever digital multi FX pedal for guitar. It still works flawless. All analog audio circuit except for the digital delay. No tuner but has tuner out jack. The main digital feature is the programming and patch storage. No external power supply/adaptor. Has a heavy 3 prong 110 volt cord about 10 ft long.

Mt Kakehashi made one of these for me. I'm pretty sure I've still got it in the attic somewhere.

I have about 10 of them in storage: I use computer effect now as I do not gig anymore.
I also have a JV 880 and a M-SE1 String Ensemble in my rack.

VF-1 (Boss)
ME-5 (Boss)
CS-2 (Boss)
DR-770 (Boss)
Juno GI (Roland)
PCR-80 (Edirol)
SD-20 (Edirol)

Not all pedals but that's what's within my view at the moment.

As for pedals, I see a DS-1, a DF-2, an EH-2 and GE-7 from here.
Plus a Juno-G, Juno 106, W-30 .. and a couple keyboard cases.

Everything else 'Roland' is over at the studio.
I think there's a tiny cube in the closet along with a RAP-10, almost forgot.
Come to think of it, there is a 909 around here somewhere too.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

I also have one of these that Mr Kakehashi made for me, which I still love playing. Although today I use it with Synthogy Ivory instead of its own sounds. It does have a fantastic action, and was way ahead of its time.

Still have An SD-40 by Edirol (a division of Roland) and a Fantom XR, as well as two Integra-7s. I've been Roland all the way.

A local church recently moved from mobile into a building that had a whole bunch of stuff ready to go. I'm helping to clean up all the old mobile stuff like finding new owners for the Gator Trunks, Flight Cases, and a bunch of other stuff.
The Pastor wanted to bless someone who plays piano but only has an upright. He borrows a keyboard or piano when he does concerts a few times per year.
It was his birthday on Monday. We put together a whole package.
Roland RD 700 NX
Heavy Duty stand
Gator Flight Case
Sustain Pedal
2 XLR Cables
Folding soft bench.
Powered 1000 watt Electro Voice ELX 112P Speaker.

The Pastor called him to say we wanted to bless him with it (free). He was ready to deliver it. This is the very same RD 700 he has borrowed in the past.
Believe it or not: He declined saying he did not have room to keep it at his house.

Weird Hah! That's church folk.

I'm going to try again by letting him know we can find someone to keep it for him until he's ready to do his concerts. In fact, I'm thinking of someone right now.
