Hybrid styles won't work, because they affect comping instruments only and don't touch melody or solo track. It's easy, though, to insert a few muting control parameters at appropriate positions via the PianoRoll Window, such as CC #11 for expression, or setting velocities to zero etc.
Upgrading would be even easier, of course.
