When you press the F button next to the 'Style...' button, you may get a message "This 'favorite styles' dialog will show you the last 75 styles that have been used. There are currently no styles in the list, so you'll need to load some in first!".
When you then press OK, the usual Favorite Styles dialog should open up. If that's not the case, you might try a factory reset.
