Thanks for your help Rachel,
The problem appears to be that RB does not recognize the upper banks. I have made test files.pat and only the lower banks work. I used your erxample as a model. By the way even if your original file has periods in it the conversion utility seems to convert them to commas. Tech support has assigned this to a senior tech to come up with a solution. The only thing I haven't tried is some other instrument defs just to see if any will work on my system.
