hello

What is the best package for a Jazz guitarist?
Is it enough with the Band in a box Pack?

Thanks

Welcome ....

My advice is to buy as far up the chain as you can afford. One of the things BB does exceptionally well is jazz music. There are dozens (maybe closer to hundreds actually) of jazz styles in BB and the real tracks generally have a large section devoted to jazz tracks.

I don't think you would be disappointed with any of the versions but certainly, the further up you can buy, the more available options you have to choose from.

Some of the first music I started to work with once I got BB/RB was jazz.

Here's a few of the jazz songs I used BB to create:

Smooth jazz I know you're up to it.

Swing Jazz Walking in Springtime

General Jazz Power in the Blood Old church hymn.

I used BB and the real tracks along with my live guitar to play various parts. Horns and piano are BB/RT's playing as well as drums, bass.....

I think you would like Band in a Box.

Edit: BTW.... try to post in the correct forum for the topic. this is the songs showcase for finished songs. Discussion on other topics should be posted in other more appropriate forums.

Add nothing that adds nothing to the music.
You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both.

Good advice above.

You won't regret the variety that you are provided with by purchasing one of the more detailed packages.

If you are into Jazz and only go entry level, you'll probably find you are being held back from being creative fairly quickly. That's not to say that the product cannot deliver, it's that you will be constrained. Get the best you can afford. You won't be disappointed.

Buy everything. It is the best investment you will ever make.

You will not want to be limited in Jazz, you will want to mix it up and it will drive you crazy when you see "track not available."

Trust me, don't piece it together, buy the most you can with what you can afford as Herb said.

People are buying the stuff I have created with Band in a Box and it has paid for itself many times over.

Ditto the proper forum comment. Post this on off topic next time.

Welcome.

Good choice. You may be surprised at the fact that other genres like country, funk' fusion etc can sound very good in a jazz song. I have done that a number of times. Also you can have a number of styles in a song so say you start out with a jazz straight eight time signature for the verse then you can add a funk style for the chorus. In other words don't be afraid to experiment!

OK, a random thought;
Why does toilet paper need a commercial? Who's not buying it?

Thank you very much.
Is there no upgrade option between packs?
Buy MegaPak first and then buy only what you need for everythingPack

Pepe,

You'll need to contact Sales with your question. These forums are user forums and we don't know all that much about prices. That being said, I notice on the Sales page, that there are special deals for upgrading.

http://www.pgmusic.com/bbwin.packages.htm

The EverythingPak is US$190 cheaper to upgrade from a 2016/2017 version of BIAB.

Also, if you bought the Megapak within the last 30 days, you'll be able to get your money back if you decide to get a more comprehensive version of the program. (PG Music offer a 30-day money back guarantee.)

To contact Sales, you can find various options under the "Support" link at the top of the web page.

Regards,
Noel

Yes you can always do that. I think that's how I started... I bought the basic package and a few extra packs of real tracks to get what I wanted. I upgraded the following year and at some point went in and got the entire package on hard drive with everything included.

I have not backed off the full kit since and get the upgrades as they come out yearly.
