Couldn't agree more with your comment "Well, you can try to model any guitar to sound as if it were another type. In my opinion it's not the same."

Especially true when played clean or with little distortion, once you start adding lots of distortion the lines start to blur a little. But even still, the guitar and especially the pickups make a big difference to the overall tone.

That's how I justify to my wife that I need more than one guitar anyway, it's worked so far! eek
