I know there are a lot of folks "like me" here in the forum. We invest a lot of our time and money in this magnificent obsession, but we are also realistic and have to know where to draw the line.

With that in mind, I am looking for a sanity check. Who has considered this product? More important how many have bought it?

Feedback appreciated.

Dan

With any purchase, there's the long list of considerations, but most important it's:

What can I not achieve with my current equipment, that I will be able to achieve with the purchase?

Write down your answer, then make it come true when you make the purchase. Sometimes, this takes a pile of effort on your part, sometimes not. You may find that in the end after the effort, you can also do it with your existing equipment/software, but this is the only way to avoid buyer's remorse.

As long as no child of yours needs to starve ;-) - I would go for it.
Why do we work hard, if not have a little fun!

I bought Komplete 9 and a few other items. Have yet to really use it in my music. But still quite happy that I have it to experiment with and learn from.

Go for it!

You nailed it Floyd.
No need for me (at least) to take this product any further. I couldn't even afford the Tee Shirt wink

Correct me if I'm wrong... but it appears to be less expensive than the Everything Pack from PG. $499 vs $569 or $669 audiophile.

So where do you draw the line?

If it's more money than you have to spend on music software vs putting food on the table and paying rent, would be one.....

Do you really need it to get the song done or can you find another way with what you currently own?

If you have the money and you use that sort of software synth.... buy it.

And for the record, I do not have it. I do have one of the NI Komplete synth collections that cost somewhere around that number as well as a number of other pretty costly things..... and yeah, I have PG's Everything Pack too.

PG Omni pack which I bought the Omni Pack the first one is musical performance related. It's not instruments or
VST's.

I would look at Komplete Ultimate and Arturia V too first before I splurge on Omnisphere. Which I have. PlugIn guru makes many 3rd party sounds that enhance that synth. But you also have SynthMaster and can buy 2 or 3 vst's for the price of Omnisphere. Omnisphere is fabulous for soundtracks. Out of the box it offers many strange sounds that you may or may not have the imagination to use. I appreciate the effort but Synthmaster seems to me to come with more usable sounds right out of the palette. I love Omnisphere too but I think $479 is a lot and I bought it on a whim. I have never paid that amount for even hardware synths. But it is only one synthesizer while I can get synthmaster and Arturia if I own native instruments for the price that gives me 19 synthesizers for the price of Omnisphere. So it depends on what you want.
