I have a copy of Cubase VST which came bundled with my TASCAM US-224 interface. It is fully featured except for having only one level of undo. I poked a stick at it until I got a copy of its big brother, NUENDO. Your version of Cubase should do anything a DAW should.

I agree with Mac to a point. I found it difficult to repeat certain operations until I began to "write my own manual" for processes I used frequently. Once I got past that I was okay. A positive difference about Steinberg products is that you can customize the interface in certain ways to suit your liking.

I recommend getting a third-party 'manual' such as "Cubase Power." Steinberg manuals are beautifully written and comprehensive, but sometimes a little perspective can help. Steinberg also have user forums. You must register your product to take part.
