I just re-installed BIAB/RB 2017 and BIAB lists no Dxi's in its VST/DX Synths/Plugins dialog box.
The Scan for New Dx Plugins option does nothing.

Coyote WT and other DXi's are recognized in RB which is installed on the same root hard drive.

Maybe try clicking the Options button in the Default Synth selection screen and selecting 'Edit DXi Exclusion list'.

If Coyote or other DXi's are listed here they will be ignored. Move them back to the other side of the applet.
Otherwise, I can say that when I upgraded to 2017, Forte came along for the ride.
Both BiaB and RB.

So did all my other DXi's.

Do you have it installed on another system where you can verify your issue is 2017 and not that particular machine? I ask because since it seems to have been fine for myself and others, it is likely a machine specific issue (fine for most users but not you)
This makes it a bit tougher to solve.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Thanks rharv, I tried that. Nothing on the exclusion list.

This problem is only on my ISUS Laptop w/ Windows10. I don't have this problem on my studio desktop machine w/ Windows 7.

btw, I had this same problem on my laptop yesterday before I re-installed the programs.
Also, nothing happens when I use scan for new DXi option. The program still doesn't see any DXi's.

It saved several DX.dll files to (C:)Program Files(x86)/ PowerTracks DirectX Plugins

This seem odd to me since I don't have PowerTracks installed on my Laptop.

It's because Real Band is Power Tracks with some Biab functions added to it.

I think you are the first person to have an issue with DXi's in years, they always just work automatically. I would contact PG Support.

"Coyote WT and other DXi's are recognized in RB"

If they are empty ini's in BB and they are working in RealBand and they contain the info, just copy the ini's from the RealBand folder to the BB folder.

That seem like a good idea and I will try copying those files now. I'll let you know what happens.

after doing this and opening those files in notepad I see the following

None=
RawPlugCount=0

Thanks again everyone... I'm out of town for another day, but when I get home I may try that, or I may re-install from my originally purchased BIAB 2017 USB Hard Drive...

what a great forum this is..!

Many times, just using TeamViewer (or such) would let othes fix things quickly .. but that involves a certain layer of trust. You have to agree to allow someone to log on to your computer.

When it seems to be a system specific issue, as this does, it may need a system specific solution. I'd trust PG support to remote in and take a look for you FWIW. Or even an experienced user here that you trust.
It could save a lot of time.

It may be something weird like RB is running in Administrator mode (and thus can install DXi plugins to the OS) and BiaB isn't .. or some other weird issue, hard to say.
I'd try to get a remote session going with PGMusic Support and see if they see something obvious (to them) on the system.

I'd try Live Help at top of page to contact PGMusic, and/or PM a user to ask.
