OP Noel96 Veteran Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 19,831 Australia	Lately, I've become a fan of "American Horror Story" and in the episode of 'Asylum' that I watched tonight, Jessica Lang sang the "The Name Game". What a clever song! I'd never heard it before and I found it a very inventive use of nonsense syllables. Does anyone know what are some other songs that have a heavy use of nonsense syllables that became famous? The only ones I can think of at the moment are... Regards, Noel MY SONGS... Originally Posted By: Wikipedia Collins has said that he "improvised" the lyric. Collins was just playing around with a drum machine, and the lyric "su-sussudio" was what came out of his mouth. "So I kinda knew I had to find something else for that word, then I went back and tried to find another word that scanned as well as 'sussudio,' and I couldn't find one, so I went back to 'sussudio'", Collins said. Obviously, this song was the rare exception where the placeholder wasn't removed. While lyrically some of his songs may be stream of consciousness and contradictory, that didn't stop them from being huge hits. The approach of focusing on the groove first and the lyrics last served Phil well. Or The Chords "Sh-Boom". And there's always "We Go Together" from the musical Grease. Goo goo ga-joob from the Beatles "I Am The Walrus". Gene Vincent's "Be Bop A Lula" And from the "D's", we have The Crystals "Da Doo Ron Ron", Manfred Mann's "Doo Wah Diddy Diddy", and The Police "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da". "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious". The Chips "Rubber Biscuit". Little Anthony and the Imperials "Shimmy Shimmy Koko Bop".
