I didn't know Allanah but her legacy sure lives on with me. I have a number of fake books: (Real Book 1,2 3); colorado; Bill Evans; NewReal 1,2,3; Jazzfake; Jazz ltd; Library; The Book; Dick Hyman; and other books of sheet music. There are times I need a quick chord or melody line and get stuck. Then I remember to check the Allanah files and to her immense work and credit I very seldom get skunked looking there. If I could somehow load all her song titles in a lookup file similiar to my "fake books" file I would be set. In any case just wanted to take this opportunity to thank her again for her contribution.DennisD

Allanah has been a mainstay of BIAB for many years and has a wonderful collection of MIDI and .sgu files that she shares freely. She is also a great accordionist who has backed many of us over the years. I would like to add my kudos to a wonderful lady.

Dennis, This might do the job for you. Here's a link to a pdf that I put together that explains how to use the Command Prompt in Windows to get a list of all the files in a folder and put into a single text file. The text file can then be opened in a spreadsheet and sorted however you like. How to get a list of files in a folder (quick and easy approach)Regards, Noel

Noel, thanks for taking the time for a response. That looks like it will do the trick. It is similar to how I get lists of all the song titles I have saved in a folder that contains lyrics or scores, but a little more sophisticated. I will give it a try and let you know how I make out. DennisD

I want to add a "tremendous thank you" to Allanah here as well. When I initially started out with BIAB many years ago, I was so grateful that I found out about her awesome site; it was a wonderful source to so many tunes that helped me get started with BIAB and music in general (yep, I started somewhat later in life than most)! SO THANK YOU, ALLANAH....AND, AS OTHERS HAVE SAID, I'M ALSO A GREAT ADMIRER OF ALL HER HELP AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO BIAB AND ITS SEPARATE FORUMS OVER THE PAST MANY YEARS!
