Janice's first comment was that your song sounded like something Glen Frey would have sung - both the performance and the write. The melody is lovely and well delivers the sad story without being overwrought. Janice also said to mention the exceptional vocal and the steel. I agree with what everybody is saying... mighty fine song you've written and performed here!
Your voice is just phenomenal too... it fits the songs you write so well. There is a "just enough" quality to this song... the background instruments are clear but not overpowering, and they work together to support the vocals as close as anything could come to being perfect.
