I still use an 0404 and I love it however it has no headphone out. But what about the 1616 with the MicroDock breakout box? Would that suit your needs?

I have considered this option, but I'm a bit gun-shy now over the leaking caps with EMU. I probably shouldn't be, but being burned a bit hasn't raised my confidence level. Add that to the fact that they discontinued the 1820M about three years ago (about one year after I bought mine).

The non-DSP version is $300 US, doesn't have the room simulaiton, but does have on-board DSP if you want to unburden your CPU for most of your effect processing.

I believe Saffires have always had the capability to operate as standalone mixers as well. I couldn't see this on Sweetwater's site. But check into it.

Scott:

It does look good - after conversion, the price here at the local store run by zombies is within a few dollars of Sweetwater's price - without the hassle of customs and couriers. Just have to deal with the zombies. LOL

Zombies...that would be Long and McQuade?

Gary

I'm blessed watching God do what He does best. I've had a few rough years, and I'm still not back to where I want to be, but I'm on the way and things are looking far better now than what they were!

As the local ad goes (available in Canada for and insurance company):

Eee-yup.

My experience with them hasn't been too good. Too many part timers on staff that don't seem to be on commission (or they'd be a lot sharper IMO).

Don't need a new soundcard just yet.

Picked my repaired 1820M EMU yesterday from the shop. They replaced three capacitors for the grand total of just under $65.00 CAD. They replaced them with a slightly higher voltage rating so there is less chance of a repeat.

Sounds better than ever.
