I have a single BB SEQ file that no matter what guitar I chose it inputs only the Direct Input track for that song.
I have tried a new SEQ file and it does NOT do the same thing.
I had a friend do some changes to the file at home on his own version of BB/RB and since then I cannot get any of the guitar tracks to be added with effects...all are DI only.
Is there a setting that got changed that I can modify in RB or BB?

In the actual Realtracks selection window there is a checkbox for Use Direct Input ..
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Yes but it is not checked and still they come out as DI tracks.

Have you saved the track with it unchecked, to see if the setting changes? (it somehow gets saved per file?)
If NEW files work fine, you also may want to try opening a new file, then using File-Scrap-Load Scrap, and importing the existing song data into a new file by selecting the problem song.
