Will BIAB run properly on this device, and of course I am guessing I may require the Mac version? Oh yes the processor is an A10X.

Mind you I know nothing about Apple products, this would be my first. If BIAB will not run on this device I will purchase a lesser model.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I did a quick search on the MAC forum and it looks like iPad, iPhone, Android phone, etc. just use a BIAB app. It's not a full version of BIAB, very limited.

the apple operating system osx is what is used to run biab and is found on the macbook and imac models

it would help in providing guidance if you described your goals for an ipad

Right, you would want to buy a MacBook laptop. Or, less expensive especially since you already have BIAB for Windows, a Windows laptop. Remember you can activate your copy on three PCs.

Thanks to Steve, Mike and of course Matt for the responses.

Sorry, my goal was to use the I-pad as I do my current laptop, live. Of course now I realize I cannot do that, but it was just a shot as I was going to buy an I-Pad for other reasons anyway and thought I'd pop for the one grand version if I could get the double use from it.

Nahh, no need to buy a Mac, my old Lenovo (and a new notebook version I keep setup in my studio) both work fine for running BIAB live.

Thanks again guys,

If you want to run Biab on a tablet get a Surface Pro i5 with 8 gigs of ram. It's a full PC. But, Biab is not optimized for a touchscreen.

Thanks Bob,

On one of my setups I am running BIAB on a Lenovo notebook, very close to a tablet in size and weight. I am just getting ready to buy an I-Pad for other uses and thought wouldn't it me nice . . . LOL

Take Care,

Oh yes phones way too small for me besides, I was looking for RAM/Memory/Processor specs. Just curious, why won't you just use BIAB for your lyrics and chords? As stated my Lenovo notebook although a little thicker, is the same size as an I-Pad.

Hi Danny. I don't use Biab for chords and lyrics because I like to have my chords and lyrics with me... so if there is an opportunity to jam i take it. (I have about 300 songs in my repertoire and I can't hope to remember all the lyrics and chords for all of them). I cant always have my laptop with me.

Also, when I play live these days I usually just perform with my acoustic guitar. So Biab is not necessary.

On www.mysonglist.com you can just type in the name of a song and it brings up the chords and lyrics for you (if the song is in their database that is). Plus the chords and lyrics scroll....you can also change the key.

Danny,

It might not be necessary to put BIAB on the iPad at all.

If you basically use the PC as a playback device for your BIAB songs, you could export your set list as audio or as video (with lyrics/chords) and use an audio or video app to stream your set list.

Just a thought. Most music stores now sell devices that attach an iPad to the mic stand, so my guess is that a lot of people are using tablets in their live shows.

That was my thought too, Pat. In a live setting, does anybody need individual tracks playing? For the few songwriter circle things I did, I dumped 3 songs down to MP3 without the lead vocal track, converted them to MP3 and just played them into the house system from the iPad. I had to remember to take the right cabling, but it worked out fine. From Real Band to Real Pad.....
