In my continued quest for a good old school tape echo delay sound in a single pedal ( I posted about this back in July of 2016), I've currently narrowed it down to two choices. Both are a bit pricey but sound like they might do the trick.

They are : https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/RE20pedal and https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EchoPlexDelay

Right now I'm leaning toward the Echoplex.

I've checked into the Yamaha Magic Stomp, Alexis Q2 and RFX 2000. It looks like you either have to find these used and/or then download patches to get sounds similar to groups like Hank Marvin and the Shadows. Too much $$ and effort for what I'm after, and honestly, I'm really not trying to become a Hank Marvin clone.

My current gear is a 1986 Fernandes LE-1 Stratocaster with upgrades Seymour Duncan pickups, Fender Super Champ XD with 12 inch speaker cabinet.

If anyone has had experience with either of my considerations, I'd love to hear about them, or any other suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks for the help!

Frank
