It's a great offer, Josie. I'm sure you'll find a lot of interest.
My question regards technique.
(1) Now, I have heard the pro studios do a lot of remote and on site collaboration. In their cases, they probably all use Pro Tools and Media Composer, making it a relatively simple matter to collaborate on tracks. For a while, Adobe was building all kinds of collaboration software which, my guess is, applied to the coming Cloud.
(2) What is being requested could be as simple a matter as posting or mailing a backing track, which Josie would use to produce a vocal and guitar track.
Mind you, I am not asking these questions because I think I know something. To the contrary, I am wondering how this works. Do the work stations have be the same? Can you just play a BAIB WAV through earphones and sing along with it and expect the original owner to get it to sound right?
----
(As an anecdote, I once knew a steel guitar player who would learn songs by playing along with a CD track. I wish I had recorded some of them, because they would blow your mind.)
What's the plan?
