According to the web site, the lessons (eg 101 Jazz guitar phrases) allows to " Hear the music, see the notation and guitar tablature and watch the on-screen guitar fretboard to see exactly how the phrases are played.".
I couldn't find out how to get the tablature going.
Would appreciate any guidance.

I'd like to know about this as well. I've been experimenting with the guitar chord solos. The Guitar Window seems pretty error prone in build 11 - is there a way to see tablature, to supplement the conventional notation, or is this not yet supported on the Mac? I've tried to follow the instructions regarding displaying the notation and setting the track type to guitar (from http://www.pgmusic.com/wanttoplay/guitar.htm#2) but it isn't apparent how to achieve this. This one seems to be the mystery subject that no one wants to touch  In the meantime, some of the stuff, such as the 101 jazz guitar phrases have the tabs on the PGMusic web site. Inelegant, but works. Still doesn't explain why the program doesn't work as mentioned on the web site. My guess is that the web description is for the Windows version. Would be good to have tabs.
