For those who use the real track acoustic basses, especially in swing jazz tunes, have you noticed the following? Often, my bass part doesn’t make it to the chord for the key that the song is in but, rather, plays an alternate note. Say, if the song is in Bb, there’s a point where the Bb should be played by all, or, most instruments. The bass often plays something else. Most of my settings are for the simple bass option. It sounds like it’s mistracking for that one chord only----- the root or tonic, when that is the chord that is specified. It appears no matter the tempo. No other instruments show this pattern. It’s not all the time, but occurs often within each swing tune. Just wondered if anyone else has noticed this on swing styles, with acoustic bass? I’m using the Windows version of 2017.

I had this with especially RT basses, especially on chord changes at 2nd, 3rd, and 4rd beats at a chord change. Not swing style specific though, but with other styles too.
Some times you can fix this by pointing to the right bass note by specifying the bass, like entering Gmaj7/B if you need a B note for bass at a certain beat. Sometimes i split a 4/4 bar up in two 2/4 bars, or even mark the bar start with a substyle marker (blue for a or green for b) to force the chord to the root note at a certain beat.
Quite often with realtracks this 2/4 bar split trick however causes empty beats in the realtrack, or worse, doesn't select the right chord on a certain instrument, as f.i. a Gmin is selected sounds when you want a G. I report the latter type of errors with PG as they probably are programming faults. F

Thanks for the tips. I’ll try anything to get it to respond correctly. The bass line seems like it’s trying figure out the correct note to play and it doesn’t quite get there in time. For example, in a typical turnaround phrase in the key of C------I’ll use a Dm7, G7, then, C. Well, it often won’t play C, but will choose another note in the chord. My ear catches that. Maybe others wouldn’t notice.

Same problem here ... can't find a work around !
The bass MUST play the root of any change if you are playing piano rootless voicings !
Quite often the 3rd is played. That seems to happen in most of the jazz styles.
It is quite annoying ... as even stylemaker midi bass can not play correct scales or distances. (up 3rd,or up 4th, down 5th etc)
