This is a song about lost love and being so beat down from trying to make things work that you just don't care anymore. I wrote this after a fight with my now wife a few years back. We had been going through a rough spot. I had already been in so many bad relationships that I thought this one would end up like the others, and I felt like I just couldn't care anymore if it worked out.
Very well done. Sad and soulful. Love the country vibe. But tell me, has your wife heard this? Mine never listened to my work, but when she finally did...OVER, boy! Oh well. BTW...I hear some Cat Stevens in your vocal. Really. Enjoyed it, Bob She has heard this but does not know the whole back story. She thinks it's just one of my many breakup songs. Those are some of my favorites to write.
