Cómo consigo el acorde en BIAB, que en tonalidad de Do tendría estas notas (de grave a aguda):

No soy músico de carrera así que no conozco conceptos como triadas etc, pero en mis comienzos tocando guitarra creo recordar que lo aprendí como novena menor (en este caso C9m, que creo que no es lo mismo que Cm9) pero, aparte de que hay diferentes nomenclaturas, puedo estar equivocado. Viene bien para resolver a C7 (C E Bb C)

Band-in-a-Box puede ayudarte no solo a encontrar o construir los acordes que necesites, con muy pocas excepciones, sino que también puedes usarlo como asistente teórico para aprender acerca de la naturaleza, raíz y construcción de acordes y progresiones con los mismos. En el caso que planteas tienes las notas Do - Mi - Sib - Do# las cuales conforman la estructura similar a un acorde alterado de séptima (Sib) con una novena disminuida (por regla armónica debería ser entonces su enharmónica Db y no C#) Este acorde debería incluir la 5ta justa (Sol) para tener primero las tríadas fundamental de DO-MI-SOL (C-E-G) y luego la 7a menor seguida de la novena disminuida para finalmente tener el acorde alterado de séptima dominante llamado DO séptima con novena disminuida C7b9 . Algunos instrumentos, como la guitarra, por su naturaleza permiten en muchos casos eximir o "economizar" ciertas notas en aras de una determinada sonoridad o disposición de las manos y los dedos. Igualmente el piano también permitirá ciertas extensiones y posiciones de notas que otros instrumentos no podrían realizar. Pero eso ya entra en el campo práctico de cada instrumento en particular.
Band-in-a-Box te ofrece la herramienta "ACORDE GENERADOR" para entrar en el "Constructor de Acorde" con la que podrás facilmente orientarte en la busqueda,uso y construcción de acordes, incluyendo una interesante función llamada "Teoría del Acorde" que de manera muy didáctica te guiará en el tema.
En los gráficos abajo podrás visualizar un ejemplo de esta herramienta, a la cual puedes acceder en la página de arreglo con clic derecho sobre el compas en donde desees introducir tu acorde. En el gráfico he indicado el acorde correspondiente mas cercano al que has prguntado (C7b9) esperando que te sirva de guía y ayuda.

La escritura del acorde que mencionas como "C9m" no es correcta ni cumple con las reglas y parámetros de notación y nomenclatura del cifrado actual de acordes y de uso estándar. Si bien existen algunas variaciones en la simbología y los caracteres utilizados para escribir e indicar un determinado tipo de acorde, solo determinadas nomenclaturas son correctas y aceptadas. En nuestro ejemplo: DO SÉPTIMA CON NOVENA BEMOL este acorde se puede escribir con las siguientes nomenclaturas universalmente aceptadas C7b9, C7-9, C7(b9) o incluso C7 flat 9 según los parámetros y reglas del llamado "Cifrado Americano". Incluso se podría aceptar "C séptima con novena bemol" o "C7 novena menor" , pero solo en caso de querer expresar el basamento teórico. De la misma forma podemos señalar que por ejemplo el acorde Bb-9 es un acorde menor con séptima menor mas la tensión de la novena justa (nota DO o "C").
NOTA: la armonía aplicada a las reglas de la composición y el análisis musical académico pueden tener nomenclaturas diferentes, y aunque matemáticamente y en teoría indiquen lo mismo, las mismas no están ajustadas a la estética musical de los estilos populares, tales como el jazz, rock, blues, jazz latino etc. Por lo tanto no se recomiendan en este campo específicamente.
Aprovecho la oportunidad para prevenir el uso de nomenclaturas erróneas que puedan dar lugar a confusiones. En nuestro ejemplo el acorde C9m señalado por el amigo Pedro Luna podría confundirse fácilmente con el acorde Cm9 (Do menor novena) que indica que el acorde es menor, la séptima es menor y tiene añadida la tensión de la novena, por lo tanto recomiendo evitar el uso de nomenclaturas no estandarizadas que no cumplan con las reglas específicas.
Recomiendo echar un vistazo al diagrama de la imagen que publiqué como respuesta en esta publicación para entender mejor la naturaleza del acorde. Igualmente recomiendo una investigación y repaso de los conceptos básicos en alguna de las múltiples fuentes de información como la siguiente:

Hola Carlos, perdona la intrusión pero como veo que eres productor musical y entiendes de armonía te haré la siguiente pregunta: En Band in a box, si pongo un acorde de C7b9, el piano me adorna notas de C9 sin alterar incluso teniendo la armadura en Fm, sin respetar el modo y grado del acorde. que estaré haciendo mal? Es raro que suceda una mal-intepretación en la armonía del acorde introducido, excepto en los casos en los que el estilo utilizado lo requiera, por ejemplo en ciertos tipos de blues y rock muy básicos o puristas, me ha sucedido especialmente en tempos rápidos, pero como te digo es poco frecuente. Lo que si puedo acotar es que ciertos estilos caracterizados por una cierta sofisticación armónica y propia de los mismos, como todos aquellos dentro de la gran categoría del jazz y el bossanova, samba jazz, jazz latino, swing, dixie jazz, smooth jazz, fusion, jazz funk, big band etc, siempre responderan mejor en el contexto armónico solicitado, a los acordes incluyendo tensiones y notas alteradas. En Band-in-a-Box y RealBand, un acorde por ejemplo G7b5#9 será mucho mejor interpretado por el piano en un contexto de estilo de trio de jazz, combo swing o bossa que por una guitarra eléctrica con distorsión en una estilo "hard rock" por decir algo. Lo mismo será cierto tanto para estilos MIDI como RealTracks o combinación de ambos. También te recomiendo chequear si la función de simplificar o re-intepretar los acordes para una interpretación mas simple armónicamente no esté habilitada, lo cual puedes hacerlo en la ventana de configuración de canción.
Si te apetece y para intentar asistirte un poco mas con el caso, por favor podrías precisar e indicarnos con más detalle en que estilo(s) te esta sucediendo eso y si hay alguna configuración en la que tengas dudas. ¿estas usando una versión muy antigua? aunque la interpretación armónica siempre ha sido sólida en Band-in-a-Box desde sus mismos principios, la paleta de acordes ha ido aumentando con el tiempo hasta estabilizarse hoy día como una de sus características mas resaltantes.
Como ves Carlos, aun ajustando preferencias y forzando la pista para no Embellecer, el piano reinterpreta el modo: C7b9 dominante de Fm y aparece la nota "la natural" como la flecha azul indica,l cuando debería ser bemol ya que no quiero intercambio modal, debería limitarse a la escala frigia mayor, napolitana o disminuida.
