Yes, I think there is a way around this problem, and it does not involve copy protection.

There are files that must be in the /BB folder for BIAB to recognize that you have individual Real Tracks installed. I think they are the ST2 files only, but there are also XT2 files. The ST2 files are large in size but not generally as large as the individual Real Tracks in the Real Tracks folder.

As an experiment, copy a few of the ST2 files from your laptop /BB to your new desktop /BB and see if they are recognized now.

You also sound like a great candidate for ordering the whole BIAB package on a USB hard drive.
