j2,

A couple of thoughts spring to mind...

When using Realdrums, the count-in is predetermined by the drums used. The settings that you refer to are for use with midi drums so they will not work with Realdrums. To determine if you have Realdrums in your backing, the drum track will have green writing; if midi drums are present the writing will be yellow.

Try this...

1. Right-clicking on the Realdrums name in the mixer and force the drums to be midi. (Note: this will only happen if there is an underlying midi drum track under the Realdrums. It might be necessary to load a midi-only style to achieve this.)

2. Now regenerate the song with the new count-in settings. (Nothing happens unless regeneration occurs.)

The settings should now work.

When using Realdrums, it's the option 'Lead-in type' is that gives the variations.

By the way, welcome to the forums!

Hope this helps,
Noel
