Hello from a newbie forum user.

My first use of midi was nigh on 25 years ago, with a 386 and a Yamaha sy35. A lot simpler then, but got some reasonable results.

In the last 5 years music has returned via a choir and intensive woodshedding, open mic gigs and the odd invite. So with a new i3 PC, 8 GB ram and BIAB I hope to build some backing tracks for my songs.

I already have the sy35, and an Maudio 25 key unit.
QUESTION do I need an audio interface? As both units are midi. I have an adaptor for the sy35, which goes into USB and the Maudio is already USB.

At present all I want to achieve is creating the backing tracks and record them onto a Tascam digital 4 track, then run them when performing. The tascam works well with an analog audio recording, so in general practice I would build the BIAB track, play it and record via analog. Maybe later I could transfer onto SD card and such, but for now just need to kiss.

I also have the DigiTech trio with which I have found a few workable results.
