So, we already have RealTracks and RealStyles which are simple groups of RealTracks designed by the experts at PG. But I'm thinking it would be great to take this one step forward...RealSets!

Often I will select a RealStyle and it sounds really great but I wish there was a built-in "lift" for the choruses. I know there is some lift in some RealStyles for part marker B but most of the time it just isn't different enough. And I know I can change styles for the chorus but that is a bit cumbersome and often just difficult to locate something compatible.

Therefore...RealSets!

PG would create a bunch of RealSets that each incorporate two or more RealStyles. And they would implement an easy way (like the part markers) for us to change to the second style. These would be curated by PG for best effect, compatible instruments, etc.

So, maybe there is a RealSet called Modern Pop Rocks Explosion and it is made up of the following RealStyles,
- _ELFLUTE.STY. ElectroFlute Pop Ballad (use for verses)
- _RKBALCL.STY. RockBallad w.Cello,ElGuits[85RS] (use for choruses)

Then, when I set up my chordsheet I set a part marker to indicate whether it uses style #1 or style #2.

Another RealSet example might be Acoustic To Rocker,
- _PBALCEL.STY. Pop Ballad w. Cello,Guits (use for verses)
- _PILLOWY.STY. Pillowy Dreamy Pop Ballad (use for prechorus)
- _RKBALCL.STY. RockBallad w.Cello,ElGuits (use for choruses)

I know there are some folks who prefer to use only individual RealTracks and then they slice and dice those in their DAW and that is fine. This is just the opposite where instead of stopping at RealStyles, someone would prefer to have a set of two or more RealStyles that have been selected as compatible and paired up as a RealSet!

On the Mac version if you press fn+ F5 you get the edit settings where you can change the style during the song.

I think this would be really cool with worship music. You could have a soft slow ballad at the beginning intro and verse and in the middle have it switch to a heavy rock based part that switches back to the soft slow ballad.

You can do this already using the part markers, so you don't have to wait to find out how it would sound

If PGMusic introduces RealSets, they will might not be offering slow ballads that suddenly switch to heavy rock based parts... but you can do it already right now. Click on a bar, go to Bar Settings and change the style or the drums. Select another bar where you want it to switch back again and again load the style. Experiment away!

Yes I am fully aware it can be done but it is cumbersome and must be done on a song-by-song basis and requires the user (me) to curate all of the RealStyles to see which ones will work together.

The reason PG gives us RealStyles is so we do not need to try every RealTrack to see which ones fit together. They save us incredible amounts of time by grouping the RealTracks into styles and even allow us to create our own favorite RealStyles as well as sell us add-on RealStyles.

So, what I am asking for is simply another cool feature that makes the product better and even gives PG another potential add-on with very little change to the main program; the main effort would be in curating the RealStyles to see which work well together.

Only the top part of my message was intended for you. I like your idea and agree with you that it would be a cool new feature! cool

The other part of my response was for Islansoul, since it wasn't clear if he was aware that he could achieve his excitement about mixing ballads and heavy rock in a single song right now.

I am not sure what inventive combos that PGMusic would come up with if they were to start curating RealSets, but my point to Islansoul is that even if he waits for PGMusic to come up with RealSets, he might not get the Ballad/Heavy Rock combo he's looking for from them... but fortunately he can find some magic combos for himself right now if he wants to.

I've been meaning to experiment with mixing styles more, myself, and I would completely welcome RealSets of styles that are already known to work really well together.

Guys, I apparently have news for you all - They've already done this! whistle
Have a look into your RT demos folder and locate the demo folder called "Multistyles", it's precisely what you're asking for!! laugh

So this is obviously already possible, we just need more of them smile

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should!

RealSets = Xtra Styles in the way that PG has put together various RealTracks in "new" styles, just step in up to linking compatible Full Styles......I LIKE this idea a lot!

What if PG Music added an extra feature where you could try out a Real Set or Real Track before you bought it to see if you liked it?

That's what all the countless of audio & video demos are intended for, I'm sure.

If they did that, no one would have to buy it because we would know the formula of which RealTracks to combine in order to recreate it. The audio demos are the key to letting customers know that the collections contain some some great combinations... and I must say, most of them really do sound pretty terrific. And all the current ones only use RealTracks from 2017 and previous. In the new year there will be new ones which also utilize 2018 RealTracks. Very cool.

What I do wish for is for the UserStyles feature to be fixed so that we can create our own combinations and save them for future use. This has been broken on the Mac version ever since I started using BIAB.

Just out of curiosity, do Windows users have working UserStyles? (i.e. the ability to create your own combination of RealTracks which can be saved with "File/StyleMaker/Save Style As..." and the *successfully* reloaded at another time in another project.)
