That's not it. Import Chords from midi file allows you to use those chords with a Biab style without you having to enter them yourself. The instruments you see are from the Style, not from the midi file. A midi file has nothing to do with a Style. If you hit Play, you'll hear both the midi file AND the style which will probably sound like crap.

The primary reason to load a midi into Biab is to have it extract the chords. The second reason is there may be one specific part of the midi like a bass line that you want to use instead of the Biab generated style bass line. You could then mute the Biab bass and mute the rest of the midi file let the midi file play the bass only while Biab plays the other style instruments.
