Thanks Noel. I watched the videos and I think I am starting to get the knack of entering notation.

I entered notation for a folk song into a new BiaB file, and added chords (just copied out of a book). Apparently I entered the tune into the "piano" track. I have tried several styles out, but none of them are playing the tune I entered, just the chords. This would be alright, but when I go to "lead sheet" view and play the song, the played note is not turned red, nor is there a red box put around the current bar.

So when I try to play along along with accompaniment I get mixed up (I'm a beginner on the instrument I'm playing though I learned to read music years ago). The red notes make it much easier to play the notes at the right time.

Maybe the red notes only work for "soloist" track? How can I copy the notes from the piano track to the soloist track?

EDIT to add: I still can't figure out how to copy the notes. I can't figure out how to selected the song in notation mode. Every time I accidentally click somewhere, or my pug steps on the keyboard, a ghastly looking note with 12 ledger lines appears in some random place.

BUT I noticed that the current bar is outlined in BLUE (not red as before), which is enough of a clue for me to play along in a stumbling fashion. And when I finally played "Carrickfergus" to a pretty Celtic harp accompaniment, it was actually starting to sound a bit like music, and was quite a soothing experience (which is good because it wasn't soothing at all to get to that point!)
