Finally got around to installing the EverythingPAK on my new laptop for the first time yesterday. Did the full install 109G. Took best part of an hour to install.

First time I run the program I register it all good thus far. First time I go to use it throw in a few notes and play out all good. Then I go to select the style and it prompts it may take sometime to compile the different styles. 5 mins, 10 minutes and hour and it's still thinking.

So the program locks up and the only exit warning prompts if you exit the style compile you may crash your computer.....Wonderful.

Closed the computer down and run BIAB or RealBand and they don't run up.

Uninstall the program and put BIAB USB drive BITB (Back in the box)

Fleetz, an unfortunate experience, and one we have not heard from from other users who have upgraded.

It's worthwhile starting the process again though. Definitely run BiaB as Administrator when launching it.

Let us know how you go. One bad apple and all that jazz...

Hi Fleetz,

I haven't seen that happen before. Which version or Windows are you using?

Also, does the same thing happen when you run Band-in-a-Box directly from the EverythingPAK hard drive?

When Band-in-a-Box and RealBand didn't launch, were there any error messages?

Thanks
Kent

Which EverythingPAK? There is no EverythingPAK with 2018.

That seemed like a quick "I give up". There's lots of folks here to help you make it work, if you work with them.

Sorry for the tardy reply....Christmas and lots of family stuff.

Yes it is BIAB 2107 EverythingPAK. I bought it in April....

Windows 10 running on a new 17.3" Lappy with i7 7700HQ, 16G 2400DDR RAM, 2x512g SSD, 1070 GPU....

Yes it threw up warning message about not closing the program down and to let the program complete the style whatever it was compiling. I waited over three hours and all it would do is through the same message. I couldn't close the program down, it had frozen.

This happen twice in a row. I was having to do hard boots to close the computer down and getting basic Bios prompts on reboots by which time I wanted the program off the new computer. Uninstalled it.

I have loaded 9-10 programs on it successfully and been using it for a couple of weeks before loading BIAB on it. I ordered it with BIAB in mind hence the 2 x512G SSD drives. The computer is running no issues otherwise.

No I have not tried running it off the USB drive since this has happened. After best part of a day installing, waiting for the program to do what it said it wanted to do, locking up, uninstalling, reinstalling only to have it do exactly the same thing I uninstalled it and put it back in the box.

I will try running it from the USB drive after Christmas.

Merry Christmas to all.....thanks for the feedback.
