Hello together,
as I own a quite big screen (24") I need to resize the windows of BiaB to be able to work comfortably. In previous versions this was possible. Once I resized a window (mainly the main program window and the style picker) opening it for the next session it had saved position and size. Not so in BiaB 2018.
Does anyone have this problem and yet better, had solved it?
By the way, I have tested already all possibilities to force Windows (7) to save positions and sizes by tricks from old days like closing in the menu while pressing shift or ctrl as well as other variations. Nothing worked. Installed a program called Windowmanager. This program saves the size, but not the column-layout of the stylepicker, waht makes it useless for my purpose.
Getting this to work as before is very important for me, as if not, I would have to resize the style picker every time I open it.
Best would be, if there was a way to keep the style picker open all the time, what currently not is possible.

Welcome to the forum. Yes, I have read about this problem and I'm sure the developers are aware of it from other posts. If you are new to BIAB, then you need to know that the developers do respond to most problem reports and issue patches. We have already had several patches to BIAB 2018 just this month. The style picker is a very important function of BIAB and the company has made a lot of changes in the last two years.
Your last suggestion, to keep the style picker open all the time, would be a good post for the BIAB Wishlist Forum. Perhaps it could be made transparent in various degrees like the new Mixer window just became. Staying visible should also be optional, perhaps a checkbox in that window. I could see this being helpful.

Welcome also. There was a problem with the main BiaB form not restoring to the previously selected size, but this was resolved in Build 506 (Dec 13 2017). What version are you running? The latest update is available here. Your comment about the StylePicker is valid, and in fact there is a problem with how it saves the settings. I've reported this separately to the developers.

Does the main BiaB screen restore to your preferred size/position when the program is next started? This is working correctly here.
The StylePicker will save the users layout settings only if the OK button is pressed. It's been reported now that this would be improved by not requiring the OK button, but by simply closing the form.
Could you try pressing OK in the StylePicker and advise if that then works?

Thank you for that hint with the "ok" button, because that worked so far. In a running session opening the style picker repeatedly as well as closing the program, opening again and starting another session.
Who could have imagined that?
Thanks again, I will test further and see if it stays that way now.

Thank you for that hint with the "ok" button, because that worked so far. You're most welcome. I only found it by trial and error, specifically being inquisitive about differences between selecting OK or Cancel. Incidentally, in my view, Cancel should not select the style, but should preserve specific user's adjustments to the display presentation for this particular form.
