Sands of Waikiki

I wrote this for a submission to songtradr but was unsuccessful.
Never been to Waikiki but I know its nice.
Anyway hope you like it. All comments welcome.Rob

The sea birds are gliding in let the summer breeze carese your skin.
I sure know how lucky I been, since Ive been here with you.

We'll sit beneath the palms I'll hold you tight right in my arms.
We'll walk the golden shore on the sand at waikiki.

I'll tel you know Im coming back.
And you will too, dont be sad.

Bridge

Lets drift on the evening tied we'll be free with nothing to hide.
Take my hand and I'll stay with you and with this love so true

We'll sit beneath the palms I'll hold you tight right in my arms.
We'll walk the golden shore on the sand at waikiki.

I'll tell you know Im coming back.
And you will too, dont be sad.
I'll tel you know Im coming back.
And you will too, our bags are packed

Hi Rob,

I'm listening on a January afternoon in England, with the temperature hovering
around freezing and the snow refusing to melt.

Just for a few minutes, I was transported to a warm beach where I could relax
and listen to the soothing sounds of the local musicians.

Many thanks for that interlude!

ROG.

Rob,

Lovely atmosphere you captured here and nice warm vocals.
Just me...I couldn`t help but hear some ooohs from grass skirted ladies on the chorus!

As soon as the song started playing I was whisked away to a warm, tropical beach. I would do just about anything to go to somewhere tropical like Waikiki! Maybe one day.

Thanks for sharing!

Rob loved your vocal. I heard a hint of Don Ho on this tune. Very well done. Backtrack was very cool. Closed my eye and dreamed of sandy beaches

You nailed the vibe with this song - I really enjoyed listening to it.

My inner grammar nazi wants you to correct a line say "caresses your skin". The much smaller but more polite section of my brain tells him he should shut up and just enjoy your song. wink

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hi Rob,

I've traveled extensively all over the world, but like you, I've never been to Hawaii. I've been to all but two of the fifty US states - Oregon and Hawaii being those not visited. I've always wanted to go to Hawaii, but with Di's health, such a trip is out of the question. But she's prettier than Hawaii anyway!

The backing tracks are spot on and your voice is so relaxing. This is truly on of the best Hawaiian-based songs I've listened to in my near 71 years. That was a real treat! best to you.

Alan

Very nice Rob.

The imagery is wonderful and we love the swing feel.

Nice touch with the mandolin and, as always, your vocal is top notch.

Enjoyed it!

I've been to that beach Waikiki, years ago and your song transported me back there hearing the waves and feeling the sun it was wonderful. Really nice and relaxing with your smooth and cool vocals. Right up there with Don Ho and Israel.

Very well done! You nailed the tropical vibe here - I almost could feel the warmth of Hawaii air as I closed my eyes and let the music take control.

Great job, and thanks for sharing smile
