OP Ecki Newbie E Joined: Jan 2018 Posts: 10	Ich bin Anfänger! Bei ersten Erkundungen fiel mir auf, dass bei diversen Stücken – z. B. Jazz Piano Trio, Bossa To Swing/_BOS2SWG.STY (Jazz Piano Trio, Bossa zu Swing) – nach einigen Takten (ab Takt 6) die Begleitinstrumente (hier: Bass, Piano) ausfallen und für längere Zeit nur Drums zu hören sind. Spöter und bei den Wiederholungen der Strophen sind dann alle wieder dabei. Normal? Programmierfehler? Bedienungs-/Einstellungsproblem? Wer kann mich aufklären? Gruß von Ecki

Brille Expert Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 942 Berlin, Germany	Herzlich wilkkommen im Forum, Ecki! Der Style _BOS2SWG.STY ist völlig in Ordnung, ich habe das gerade getestet. Bei dem genannten Style (ein RealStyle) werden zumindest die Begleitinstrumente alle aus RealTracks (also im Prinzip WAV-Dateien) erzeugt, also nicht über MIDI oder DXI/VST. Der von dir beschriebene Effekt ist eher darauf zurückzuführen, dass dein Rechner etwas überfordert ist, was schnell auftreten kann, wenn du mit einem Softsampler und großen Samples für die Tonerzeugung der Melodiespuren arbeitest. Da kommt mancher Rechner nicht immer hinterher, insbesondere wenn im Hintergrund noch andere Prozesse laufen. Ich nehme an, du hast einen Windows-PC? Mit welchen MIDI/Audio-Treibereinstellungen in Band in a Box arbeitest du (findest du unter Optionen)? Falls du mit MIDI arbeitest kannst Du evtl. über die Einstellung einer höheren Latenz etwas Entlastung erreichen. Biab/RB latest build, German Language Pak, Win 10/64 Pro, 1 TB SSD, 32 GB RAM. Auch wenn ein umfassendes Handbuch beigefügt ist, es scheint mir nicht allzu schlüssig aufgebaut. Und einige Bereiche sind nicht klar erläutert. Dein Tipp war wohl goldrichtig! Ich nutze ein Win7-Notebook mit 4GB Speicher (nicht gerade Spitze, dafür mobil). Aber in der Tat habe ich die "Audio/Midi Einstellungen" zunächst nicht beachtet (ich kann damit auch nicht viel anfangen)! Ich habe dort im Fenster den "Treiber-Wizard" gestartet und dann mal den Button "Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth" aktiviert. Nun geht's offenbar, wenngleich bei meiner Kontrolle dieser Button nicht mehr aktiviert ist. Egal!? Ich arbeite mich weiter ein. Mal sehen, wann ich wieder nicht weiter weiß bzw. etwas nicht kapiere ... Gruß von Ecki

Brille Expert Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 942 Berlin, Germany	Hallo Ecki. das Soundmodell von Band in aBox ist in der Tat etwas knifflig zu verstehen, das liegt aber weniger an Band in a Box, als den prinzipiell sehr verschiedenen Soundmodellen und Schnittstellen unter Windows (MIDI, DXi, VSTi, MME, WAS, Asio ...) Mit deiner aktuellen Einstellung GS Wavetable routest du die MIDI-Daten der Solo- und Melodiespuren von Band in a Box an den internen MIDI-Softsynthie von Windows, GS Wavetable. Der ist recht narrensicher und anspruchslos bei den Ressourcen, ordnet alle MIDI-Spuren auch schon automatisch den richtigen Instrumenten zu, ist allerdings nicht von berauschender Klangqualität. Alternativ zu diesem Sounderzeuger hast Du die Möglichkeit, den mit Band in a Box mitgelieferten VSTi-Sampler "sforzando" anzusteuern. Das machst du ebenfalls in den "Audio/Midi Einstellungen". Für Sforzando werden schon mit Band in a Box 2018 eine Reihe ausgezeichneter Samples mitgeliefert (im Wesentlichen die Instrumente einer Jazz-Combo), es gibt aber viele weitere kostenlose und kostenpflichtige sfz-Samples weiterer Instrument im Netz, die du nachladen kannst. Das Plugin ist nicht ganz so einfach zu bedienen, wie ein Standard General MIDI Sampler, weil er keinen kompletten MIDI-Soundfont (aller 128 Instrumente) umfasst und standardmäßig den richtigen Kanälen zuordnet, sondern du die richtigen Samples des Instruments über das jeweils erste "PLUGIN"-Feld im Mixer zuordnen musst. Für die in Band in a Box 2018 mitgelieferten Songfiles ist das bereits automatisch verknüpft, aber für andere Songs musst du das per Hand machen. Abgesehen davon ist der Sampler prozessorintensiver, braucht also u.U. einen schnelleren Rechner. Ich habe bislang aber wenig Probleme damit, auch nicht auf meinem kleinen Windows-Notepad. Die anderen (Begleit-)instrumente der Realtracks sind komplett wave-basierte Aufnahmen echter Musiker, werden also nicht über einen Sampler generiert, sondern aus kleinen Soundschnipseln zusammengesetzt, sobald due "Erzeuge und Play" klickst. Hierfür sind die Prozessoranforderungen eher nebensächlich, das braucht einfach nur einmalig beim ersten Start des Songs ein paar Sekunden (je nach Länge und Komplexität kann das aber auch schon mal eine halbe Minute sein, bis der Song beim ersten Mal startet). Es wird hilfreich sein, dass du zusätzlich die generische Audioschnittstelle MME umstellst auf WAS oder auf ASIO (dann mit dem kostenlos im Netz erhältlichen Asio4All-Ttreiber). Beides reduziert die Latenz erheblich gegenüber MME. Das kannst du im selben Einstellungsfenster tun, rechts unten unter AUDIO Einstellungen. OP Ecki Newbie E Joined: Jan 2018 Posts: 10	Hallo Brille, danke nochmal für die weiterführenden Erläuterungen. Das ist für einen Hobby-Musiker schon höhere Mathematik. Aber wenn ich mich genauer mit "Band in a Box" vertraut gemacht habe, werde ich, wenn nötig, mich auch in dieses Thema vertiefen. Erstmal habe ich deinen Rat befolgt, den Asio4All-Treiber installiert und ausgewählt. Die Latenzzahl hat sich somit von 488 auf 23 reduziert (was auch immer das bedeutet). Doch es funktioniert jetzt, soweit ich es im Augenblick beurteilen kann. Sorry, doch nicht alles OK: Die Aktivierung des Asio4All-Treibers hat generell den Sound abgeschaltet. Während "Band in a Box" zwar spielt, gibt der Laptop sonst aber keinen Ton mehr aus (z. B. YouTube etc.)? Habe wieder den MME-Treiber eingestellt. So klappt's auch mit dem Ton in BiaB und sonst... Das Thema ist für mich momentan wohl doch noch zu kompliziert, da mir das Hintergrundwissen fehlt. Gruß von Ecki Last edited by Ecki; 01/30/18 06:37 AM.

Brille Expert Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 942 Berlin, Germany	Hallo Ecki, ja, das ist eine Einschränkung bei Asio4All: es geht immer nur eine App gleichzeitig. Bei geöffnetem Band in Box kannst Du keine andere Audio-Anwendung hören, also auch kein Youtube. Du musst also Band in a Box erst runterfahren, dann gehts auch wieder mit einer anderen Anwendung. Dafür schraubt es dir die LAtenzzeit deutlich runter. Die Latenz ist die Zeit, die der Rechner benötigt, um ein Audiosignal zu verarbeiten. Das ist eigentlich nur dann relevant, wenn du über ein Midi-Keyboard zur Begleitung durch Band in a Box spielen willst, oder überhaupt interne Softwaresynthesizer ansteuern willst. Für dich also im Moment sicher nicht so wichtig. Biab/RB latest build, German Language Pak, Win 10/64 Pro, 1 TB SSD, 32 GB RAM.
