Dave & Chris
Hard to follow Floyd's wonderful review. Nice opening bend on the intro and a beautiful build up on the solo with some very nice vibrato. Great playing. A really strong wonderful vocal. Absolutely superb songwriting.
Peter Thanks for giving this a spin, Peter! Always enjoy getting feedback from guitarists, glad you liked the guitar work.

Mighty fine Dave and Chris! The vocals on your tunes (Chris) are always wonderful and spot on! Dave, I've never said it before, but I think the guitar tone on your work is hard to beat. Loved the feedback you were getting on the tail end of the notes on the solo after the bridge! You are a fine couple of musicians! Thanks, Torrey Well, for me the perfect guitar tone is sort of a Holy Grail thing I'm always experimenting, I think every song I try something a little different. I'll never get there, but it's fun trying! Thanks, Torrey!

Yup. Great tune, we’ll done! Pink Floyd meets ... well, Pink Floyd. The message of the song definitely resonates with me. Kudos. Wasn’t actually shooting for a Floyd type tune with this, but I’m a fan so I’ll take it Thanks for the listen and comment!

Man, you guys are great. I love all your stuff.
I like the acoustic parts of this, and the mix.
I know it's blues, but it also has a Pink Floyd feel to it, both in the construction and that David Gilmour-ish guitar.
All great things in my book!
Loved it.

Nice guitar work and great vocals. A rocking song. Good compilation. Thanks for the listen and comment! Dave & Chris,
WOW! This song and performance is outstanding!
Excellent work on both your parts.
Bob Thanks for stopping by, Bob, I'm happy you liked this one! Nice work here, BlueAttitude! I'm getting a Neko Case sort of vibe here - which is most definitely a good thing in my books! The vocal performance here is truly outstanding, and I love the energy behind both the music and the vocals. It is truly memorable, and showcases great songwriting talent. Thanks so much for sharing - you should be proud of this one Thanks, Deryk!

Yeah, Neko regarding the vocal power and some Chrissie Hynde in the feel.
As Janice says "she always sings with a lot of emotion." As Bud says "that is Janice's highest compliment and I agree."
And there is a equal amount of feeling in the lyric and the scorching guitar work.
Dittos on the good mix Dave. No doubt, as you said, you put a lot of time in it. Man, can it ever take hours to get 3-4 minutes to sound good. Kudos.
Great rocker you two!!
J&B
PS: Listened at RN and then saw it was on SC. Cool...now we can add it to our playlist. PPS: Hey, consider putting that cool vid link at the top! Yes, it's all about the "feel", that's what matters whether it is a vocal or a guitar part. You can't fake emotion, and without it it is just a bunch of notes, so that for me is the ultimate compliment and Chris feels the same. Thanks for the comment on the mix too!

Man.... the music on this site just keeps on raising the bar. I think, personally, that this song is the best one I've heard here in a very long time.... without a doubt. Very well done.
Good mix, excellent writing. I dug the video and that was also very well done. It would have been cool to have some vikings vs crusaders battle scenes.....medieval war.... I was actually thinking on the first listen that would have fit the musical picture you were painting.
I got an immediate early Wishbone Ash vibe..... The King will come/Throw Down The Sword era feel.
The guitar work.... where do I start no this? As a guitar player, I was thinking, wow.... wow.... just OMG WOW! From the introduction licks that were so on target, I knew the song that followed had to be good. The solo reeked... of shades of David Gilmore with a fatter, more smooth, and muted tone. Extremely tasty playing throughout. I thought I heard the guitar right on the verge of harmonic feedback in a few places..... am I right on that? Was this with a live amp?
Nice work on the singer's part too. She puts the grit into it.
I love a good war protest song. Thanks for your very kind comments, Herb! Wishbone Ash, man, that's a name I haven't heard in a very long time! I used to listen to them back in the day though, probably 30 years ago or more, and I'm sure I still have a couple of their albums here in my vinyl collection. Will need to dig them out and give them a spin. As far as the guitar goes it is not a live amp. I decided more than a year ago to switch over to amp simulator software. It allows me to record whenever I want without bothering my wife But, more important, it allows me to change my mind about the sound I am going for after I have already recorded my track. I can try different things in the mix to see what works best. The simulator I am using is the Scuffham Amps S-Gear sim, it was Tom Adams that turned me onto using that, he uses it too. For this particular song I'm feeding it with the TSC 1.1 VST plugin, which is a free Tube Screamer emulator from Mercuriall. In addition I'm using Waves CLA Unplugged VST on the backend to add some reverb and delay.

Heartfelt, emotive energy from the write to the performances (vocals, guitar) to the arrangement.
Super, Super build up in the solo!!!
And at one point I thought that kick drum was going to jump out of my monitors and kick my @zz! lol
Great song!

Dave and Chris,
I'm just listening to the opening right now as I type, WOW!... this grabbed hold of me and refuses to let go. The clarity and the crispness of the instruments and the overall mix is magnificent.
Chris, your vocals are 'out of this world' good! The passion and fire in your performance take the listener on an amazing journey.
Dave, your work is a 4.5 minute burst of brilliance. Your guitars, your use of BIAB to create a backing, and the way you've mixed it all together are as accomplished as anything out there in the market.
There's no doubt about it, this is a perfect example of what it means to sound 'professional'.
All the best to you both, Noel It means the world to us to read comments like this! Although both Chris and myself both have many years of performing under our belts, writing and producing songs is something relatively new for us. It shows we are heading in the right direction, thanks so much!

Really enjoyed that.
So well created, great driving drums, and strength throughout the entire arrangement.
Great delivery. Thanks, VideoTrack! As far as the drums go I've been using EZDrummer2 quite a bit lately, more work than using RealDrums, but it allows a lot more control of what the drums are actually doing.
