You have been around PG for much longer than me. I don't even know what Power Tracks is.
I may tweak and do thing different if I was an active player. I am considering doing shows at RV parks while I travel and in that case I will just go back to my songs, make copies of them, render them out without a vocal track, and play the wav files from a computer. Quite similar to what you do in a slightly different fashion. I don't get deeply into editing MIDI. I don't know what I'd edit other than quantizing for timing. The Real Tracks are WAY better than what I can play manually. (If you listened to Groundhog Day when it was posted, that's about as good as it gets for me on sax.) So as usual, different situation, different solutions.
