Hi Steve,
Band-in-a-Box controls the volume of MIDI tracks using MIDI CC 7, which is standard with most synths and samplers. Unfortunately, some don't respond to that MIDI CC, and it seems like Pianoteq is one of them (by default). This is configurable through the plugin though.
I just downloaded the Pianoteq demo, then went to Options, then MIDI, and clicked Insert to create a new mapping. I mapped Controller 7 to Volume, and then the volume slider worked like a charm.
I also noticed that if I changed the Global MIDI Mapping from Minimalistic to Full-featured, Controller 7 is automatically mapped to Volume.
