I think it would be more logical if DAW mode wasn't saved at shutdown, so next start it is not automatically in DAW mode. Most users would not require the program to always start in DAW mode.
Also, the DAW mode should be highlighted better in the display. It currently doesn't work as a 'exclusive or' with other buttons, but more as an 'and' function. I've been caught also.
