Hi Charlie.

Got my foot tapping all the way through.
Enjoyed the suspense the chord structure introduces.
Good one.

Cheers.

Very unique!
And as Noel said, this was a real pleasure to listen to.

Best regards.

Yes, I came across the progression while auditioning styes in another project and it felt at once like such a great hook, I stopped the other project and put this together around it. It sounds so 'right' I'm surprised we don't hear it often in contemporary Bluegrass. Thanks for listening and commenting.

I thought I had commented on this already because I've listened to it a few times...actually, a good number of times.

I have to say it sounds authentic AND new at the same time to me. I'm not going to claim to know the genre as well as many here, but I do listen to it a fair amount. It's just such a great style of music.

I think the newness for me is the chord progressions that are being discuss. I personally, really like the choices you made. I like the unexpected that works!

Well done my friend! And, now for another listen...

Thanks for taking time to listen and comment Josie. I appreciate your kind words about my singing and it only accentuates how sorely we've been missing you as well. Gosh, and we've been missing your fantastic vocals. The fact we both posted a bluegrass tune is a testament of how the stars align on occasion. Hope things are such that we'll be hearing more of you here on the forum.

Yummy banjo licks with a major 7th chorus. Short and sweet - I enjoyed it, all right.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Very cool back track. Banjo was excellent. As Tom said chord changes were very interesting and gave the song a very original sound and feel.

Sounding great Charlie! Love those non traditional major 7ths chord in there.

Those first chords sound like a cross between a Bm and a Gmaj7th somehow. Maybe my ears are playing tricks on me. What was the exact chord notation you typed in BIAB in the first two to four measures?

Sounds great!

Love that picture too. Where did you get that?

smile

The first four measures are Gmaj7|Cmaj7|Gmaj7|Cmaj7| (input into chord chart GJ CJ)

The photo is an internet download from a google search "free and royalty free banjo images"

Thanks for listening. Glad you enjoyed the song.

Charlie

This is really fantastic. Could be the theme music for a movie.

Come to think of it, maybe it ought to be the theme music for a movie.

Great contribution, nothing less.

Thanks for the kind remarks. There is precedence for a banjo song in a movie.

Thank you for such a kind statement. Motivating too. I have one on the shelf but with another vocalist learning it. Hope to post it soon.
