If you don't play a guitar BUT, are fairly proficient with a keyboard, I would suggest REAL STRAT and REAL GUITAR. A decent level of skill is required to be able to play the part and work the controllers together.

The biggest nit I have with midi guitar is that it doesn't sound real. Even using a good sample such as NI or EW. The main reason is that you don't often have the nuances right. String noise, fret noise, bends, pick noise, and all the things that a real guitarist with fingers on the strings does, are lacking from midi performances. Even the way a note decays with time is critical, and of course, muted notes.

If you can't play a guitar well enough, and RT's are not an option, seek a guitarist or get the REAL STRAT/GUITAR plug and play with it.

Real strat demo....... watch the left hand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_E-rsKWq90

or this one live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLQlwetYGeE

looks like a learning curve but.....

this is the only thing I recommend for guitar with non-pickers who can play keys.
