Cool ole school...

As you know with Songtadr all you get a sketchy description and a youtube example.

I like the low-fi version. My only nit is that the mandolin is way modern sounding with that gorgeous and well recorded fat tone. Mandolins from, say, the 60's back were tinny sounding -- they played incredible instruments so it had to be the studios that felt that sound was appropriate. They had a staccato attack with virtually no resonance. I would love to hear what the classic Bill Monroe songs would sound like recorded well.

Hope it works for you.

Bud

Thanks Floyd,

I took your advice and made those changes.

Some Real track guitars are muddier than others, and depending on what else is in the mix, you have to change the level of brightness to match--or lower it.

But the exercise did force me to create half a dozen presets for different occasions so it was well worth the time and effort.

Thanks man.

Bob Dylan Goes Country smile David I'm very impressed with this tune. Like both versions. Guess you have to decide. I have a few horses in the same race so all the best. Great tune. Rob

Hi David,

As others have said before me, clever writing! You certainly have the knack for being creative and taking that creativity to places that many of us would never think about. I admire your skills.

By the way, I see Tater is stretching his wings and moving into production! Looks like he's fast becoming an all-rounder.

All the best,
Noel

I like the thinner arrangement but it could still use a bass and the solos restricted to a single instrument - preferably the harmonica as it's present in the rest of the song.

Cheers

Hello, David

A very nice country tune!
Your singing on this is very impressed.
As many others said, I also prefer the LoFi version.
Enjoyed my listen a lot on both versions.

Best regards.
