The line, "Just coffee and old memories", really resonated with me. What a great hook for the opening line of the chorus. The minute I heard it, you took me back to the many times I've sat down with a cup of coffee in-hand and simply thought about the past (good and bad).
I was reading through & taking notes for future reference Noel & began thinking about your comment I popped up in quotes: Originally it was "Just coffee & memories" and I was a little uncomfortable about the coffee references being Australian but then, I justified it with the amount of coffee and related culture that has a strangle on the nation. Tony, the singer did a draft vocal & added to the line "Just coffee & some memories". It was clear that the extra syllable was needed so I countered with "old" which he sang for a bit to get his head around it & he turned out to be more than happy with the compromise. The line that worked for, & hooked, you almost wasn't what it is. Serendipitousness and compromise win again. Thanks for prompting me to remember and value to input of my collaborator.

Like floyd said it sounds like a classic track.
This would fit in perfectly with some of the classic rock playlists we listen to. Great a bit of a Cream vibe on the intro.
We enjoyed the backstory...thanks for taking the time to share that.

J&B J&B, Thank you, thank you. Most of the BIGNESS is multi tracked Fender Squire Mustang into a Marshall Superbass converted to Superlead. Each track double mic'd. I'm constantly amazed at how well the RealDrums come through in mixes. This stereo drum track has a tiny bit of ReaComp Master Bus Glue compression, a smidge of Wide Chamber in ReaVerb, (same verb & settings for any instance in the mix), and just a little tinkering with ReaEQ to reduce the high hats I think. Oh, special secret ingredient - SPS Vintage Warmer 2 - the free version - set to light driven tape. Thanks for the additional info on the production. Every time I get close to exploring RD alternatives I hear something like this and am encouraged to continue working with them. I've managed to approximate what I want with Neutron 2. Thanks again for the time to mention all of the above. Bud
