This is a weird one.
I have BIAB 2018.
When I try to make a verse repeat four times I get the above error. Program then locks up.
Support said to run as Administrator. Tried that and it didn't work.
Someone also said to drop your User Settings down a notch. Tried that and it didn't work.
Thought I had a RAM problem. Checked RAM and no problems with memory.
The Support group took my file and they had no problems making a four verse repeat. So problem must be on my end. Just don't know where.
The machine is an AMD Phenom. 2.8 Ghz. 8 GB RAM.
Any advice would be appreciated. This is driving me nuts.

Does this happen with every song, or just one in particular?
Also, are you logged in with an administrator account, or one with limited permissions?

Michael,
How many bars are on the chord sheet, how many bars are unique (typically the intro and ending) and how many bars repeat 4 times?
The reason I ask is Band-in-a-Box has a maximum bar limit of 255. I suspect your song exceeds the limit.
If you add uniques and repeating bars together, how many do you have?

I have 63 which repeat four times which is 252. I have probably another 16 on top of that. So it sounds like I am over.
What I don't understand is why nobody mentioned that on the support phone line when I talked to them.
So is that what happene.?
Is there a workaround? Some songs go longer than that when you add up all the lines.
Where in the book does it show you what the maximum is?

I don't have answer to most of those questions.
A workaround I would try is to reduce the repeats from four to three or even two. Then use the cut, copy, paste and insert functions of a digital audio workstation to copy one repeats worth of audio and insert the audio where needed. Reduce the repeats to two and there might be enough bars to create some interesting bridges or transitions that will make copying and inserting the audio easier.

A workaround is to use RealBand which will read your BIAB file. It does not have the 255 measure limit.

Hi Michael,
I'm looking at your song file right now, and it looks like you could just designate bars 15-78 as your chorus, and set the chorus to repeat 4 times. That way it only counts as 63 bars, not 255.
Anything after that repeated 63-bar section can be added as a Tag Ending.
