Noel, Tip #3 was exactly what I needed in the equation - additional thanks for the link to Kenny G's Reaper MIDI stuff on YouTube. I'll be taking notes as I watch it... Glad to read that it worked out. In relation to this 3rd tip, I forgot to mention that a Reaper midi item has two possibilities when being dragged right (it depends on where the cursor selects). Possibility 1: the length of the item extends further (this is the one you needed). Possibility 2: a loop is created of the current item. This is useful if you create a midi item and you want it to repeat over and over throughout the section of a song. All the best, Noel
