This was made for a listing on Songtradr looking for a song to accompany an epic road trip scene. They didn't have a specific genre in mind so I decided to do something in the Traditional American Rock style of Bob Seger. Style: Shining Pop w/ Held Guitar Key of E major 117 BPM Real Tracks: 1255: Bass, Electric, Pop Shining 1264: Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm Pop Shining 2535: Guitar, Electric, Held Chords 1259: Guitar, Electric Rhythm Pop Shining Rock Real Drums: Praise Worship Shine Other instruments: Acoustic Guitar (x2) Lyrics: Heading out on the open road. Ain't no telling where I might go. Got a map and a tank full of gas. Gotta get away. Get out of here fast. I need a change of pace. Let's find another place. Oh yeah... Hands on the wheel. Foot on the gas. Nothing but blue skies looking out through the glass. So many places that I want to see. Wherever I go, that's where I'll be. Got nothing holding me back. Just pick a spot on the map. and take me away. Take me away from here. Don't even look in the rear view mirror. Ain't no telling what this road might hold. I need something to free my soul. Take me away. Don't need directions. Don't need a plan. I might get lost and not know where I am. To tell the truth that sounds alright to me There's really no place that I have to be. And If I run out of road I'll make that place my new home take me away. Take me away from here. Don't even look in the rear view mirror. Ain't no telling what this road might hold. This is a keeper. Whenever I get something stuck in the back of my throat, I dislodge it by drinking a beer. This is the perfect tune to blast on a road trip and sing along to loudly with the windows down. Especially that chorus - dang, is it ever catchy! The driving feel was great, and I loved how it was mixed nice and 'dry'. On my headphones I found myself wanting to hear the bass a bit louder, to emphasise the frustration of the lyric, especially in the choruses where it ought to be doing eights all the way through them?
