Well, I don't know about you.... but I'd like to hear the music that the PG staff who are musically inclined are making with the product that they are selling.
I've always been curious how the PG staff use their own products. And yes, I know some of them are musicians including Peter himself.
So come on staffers... join the fun and post up your own work.
I know I can't be the only curious one here. Get off the proverbial sidelines and put some skin in the game.

Herb,
I would like to hear music from PG staff and A LOT more forum users.
There are so many people talking about what BIAB "can't do" but they never post a tune.
So, yeah maybe the old timers are posting back in the day anthems, but without them, there would be no posts.
So, with 30,000 forum members, why doesn't someone else besides the regular crew (and PG Staff, yes please, join in the fun) please show us what you creating and how you do it, so we can learn from YOU.
Again, there are a lot of critics who never actually post a tune. How can you learn from that???
For what is is worth, I work with quite a few people whose main choice is Ableton and synth-y driven, sample-driven stuff. They come to me to add in tracks (including BIAB tracks) to give the music more coloring and flavor (i.e., keep it from being too monotonous) so we are cross-pollinating BIAB with other technologies. And it works quite well.
There COULD BE another forum where people post stuff that is not necessarily BIAB, but just productions, with mix tips--here is how I did this. This is what I used. Same as we do with real tracks.
I would LOVE to learn from that as I am already doing it with others.
BIAB is a tool. There are other tools out there.
The end goal should be EDUCATION and PRODUCTION and overall MUSICIANSHIP.
Maybe our scope is too limited.
Let's open it up.

I see what you are also going for David, but I think you sort of pointed out the problem with the solution. The "can't do it's" don't post their material. However, it might be because they feel they can't do it. There may be nothing for them TO post.
I'm with you on hearing what people CAN do. Whatever it is, I am great with. And I really mean that. I think there are gaps as far as genres of music; but I really don't think people that like whatever genre they are doing need to stop that and move to fill in the gaps.
I'm all for education as you mentioned. We are a community of creativity hear. I love learning all that I can from it. I've learned a lot to be certain.
Now, back to Herb's point. Since he brought it up, it REALLY has me curious as to what is being done by the people the make PG Music tick. I would hope they would feel safe in sharing. It would be a blast to know. They don't HAVE to by any means, and I would never want them to feel pressured...but...how cool would it be to get a glimpse and really be a part of the culture their wonderful products have created?
Herb, again, so cool of you to think of this!

I'd love to hear examples of modern chart-worthy BIAB productions by PG staff! Because the more I think about it the more I wonder...if a BIAB user produced something modern and chart-worthy wouldn't they be better served trying to get it onto a chart instead of posting here for a few attaboys? Maybe this level of production with BIAB is already out there but not shared here?

I recall Dr. Gannon has taken the opportunity in the past to participate in forum discussions with the "can't do" crowd and has created some quick songs to prove that the Stylemaker can find suitable styles for commercial songs IF one correctly uses the search filters. He's posted a killer cover of "Hotel California" including solo's & fills...

Hotel California was released on December 8, 1976.

"Hotel California was released on December 8, 1976." apparently refers to your subtopic post you'd love to hear examples of modern chart-worthy BIAB productions by PG staff. In turn, my post refers to the subject of the original poster: Well, I don't know about you.... but I'd like to hear the music that the PG staff who are musically inclined are making with the product that they are selling.
I've always been curious how the PG staff use their own products. And yes, I know some of them are musicians including Peter himself.

I know I can't be the only curious one here. Get off the proverbial sidelines and put some skin in the game. And no, I didn't delve deeper with my post about the inference of PG Staff posting their 'original' music made with Biab, Original music is actually not mentioned in the post. Not every musician composes. My focus was that the aforementioned Dr. Gannon had posted a quite admirable cover of a complicated piece with generated stock files without the use of cut/paste/DAW. My post was based on the assumption that more people are familiar with the release date of "Hotel California" than maybe were familiar with Dr. Gannon's cover of the song. I was totally unaware that once a topic has a subtopic, that posts about the original subject are taboo.

Let's open it up. I can't speak for others although I think this may apply to some. I can't post a lot of my stuff because they are covers. As you know you can not post covers on this site. YMMV

Charlie-I completely understood what you were saying AND agree. I didn't see anything wrong with what you said or how it was said.
I think there may have some spill over conversation from another thread.
For me, and I think this is what the OP was saying (may be wrong though), I would love to hear ANYTHING from the group over at PG. Personally, I don't care if it's for the charts, or for an audience of just one (the writer). ALL are great by me.
It would just be fun; and a great way to connect with a great company.
And thank you for bringing up Hotel California. I didn't know about Peter doing that. How cool! So, I learned something too!

Yes I'm bridging a couple of posts but I wanted to add to the wish that PG would show us some examples. Obviously they (and many of us) can create authentic classics with BIAB but what about modern music? Nothing modern appears in the showcase that I can find. None of the style demos sound particularly modern. My point about Hotel CA is we all know BIAB can be used for 70s music! How about some 2018 music?

Do you have an example of 2018 music that BIAB can't do?
I'm not doubting you, but I don't listen to much radio and would like to have a listen to a song or two.
