I think that it's best to confine post deletion or thread closure to situations where things get 1) too political/religious via mean spirited personal attacks, 2) other personal attacks or 3) profane. "Completely Off-Topic" can be at times hard to define...I used to struggle with that and typically ended up just letting the thread run it's course -- albeit a belabored course.

The biggest problem I dealt with on both boards was that "Please Don't Feed The Trolls" signage was not effective smile And I would never have given an OP the option to delete responses. That assumes waaaaay too much faith in EVERY member.
