Version 3.5 will not likely have any more support according to the past and I think there is a thread on the Presonus forum about this. I have only had version 4 for a day but so far I am liking it. The chord track is the feature I am playing with at the moment. I am not a EDM guy so all the improvements with the instrument stuff will not interest me so much but there are lots of nice improvements and like all Studio One upgrades there will be lots of free upgrades over the next 2 or 3 years till version 5. They are known for some very big free upgrades in between so if nothing strikes your fancy with this upgrade just wait a bit to see what else they bring out. They have some cool stuff coming with ARA 2 and the chord track this summer when Celemony finishes up with their end. Brian

Because you have Cubase already, you should be eligible to get a crossgrade price to Studio One v4 (25% off the listed price). I would recommend going with the Pro version, as the Artist version requires a separately purchased plugin to support VST/VSTi's, which starts putting you closer to the Pro price.

For other DAW alternatives that are straight up free without any of the limitations of the artist version of Studio1, check out Tracktion 6 www.tracktion.com, or Sonar - which is now purchased and run by Bandlab. https://www.bandlab.com/products/cakewalkNeither are slouch DAW. The Cakewalk is similar to the previous Sonar Platinum, but without as many bundled synths and plugins. Two completely different approaches to DAW implementation. I refused to even try Studio One - to have to pay extra for the privilege of using plugins that I already owned. However, this doesn't seem to bother most people on principle like it does me. -Scott

I just upgraded to version 4 but I haven't had a lot of time to play with it yet. Here is a video of some of the new features: Studio one Pro 4 Only you can decide if the upgrade is worth it. Good luck and I hope this helps.
