Greetings Forum Friends, I welcome you to listen to our latest song which has been 50 years in the making! Come rock with Parker Solar Probe and "Touch the Sun" https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13731977On July 31 2018, NASA and the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab will launch an audacious mission to fly a spacecraft through the Sun's corona. It will literally touch the sun. Someone had to write a song about it. The mission was originally conceived in 1958 but it has taken technology 50 years to develop the capabilities to make it a reality. With permission of the Parker Solar Probe project at JHU-APL, we've tried to capture the excitement of this epic journey. She's been described as the coolest, hottest mission ever. That was pretty fun! I agree with Scott that it's got a bit of a whaling song feel. Nice vocal and mix, and interesting arrangement. Catchy chorus, and I liked the "boom" you added at the end as well. Perhaps the drums could come up a bit? I enjoyed the song a lot.

I really enjoyed the theme of this particular song. I've always been a sucker for anything that even hints at a nod towards space or the sun. So extra points there!

You're right DC, this event is totally deserving of a song. And this does the job 100%. Superbly composed, sung and engineered, and it kept me on the hook all through. A fine job all round. The timpani hits are an inspired touch I must say!

Scott, Thanks. I'm going to have to look up Nor'Easter Whaling songs. That seems like pretty dramatic subject matter as well. I can harder imagine what that was like. Brave, hearty souls.
Bob, Good to hear from you. I like to find several RealStyles and RealTracks then leave enough room for my keyboards and sweetening.
Dave, Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll boost the drums a bit and lower my lead guitar synth a few Dbs. The booms in the last chorus are midi "Orchestra Hits" EQ'd to emphasize the lower freqs.
Ember, Always good to hear from you and the rest of the PGM staff. Being a "SpaceDog" I have a couple of songs referring to the Sun and space. I'm blessed to work in a field that I love.

Yeah! It's got that sea faring song and is that ever cool for the subject matter!
I've followed NASA since a kid in the late 50's (Janice is younger!) so this was easy to fall into.
Love it all...great vocals, arrangement and mix.

This is a really interesting tune, and some seriously cool subject matter to boot. Very engaging, and very captivating as well. In particular, I love the hook on this.

I liked this, nice subject.
Liked the verse simple acoustic guitar kept it clean and interesting The bring in the rest for the chorus good stuff.
I thought the instruments where a bit distant in the chorus, might just be me if not an easy fix.
