I really enjoyed this. You and ROG took me on quite a special journey this morning and not one that I was expecting when I clicked on the song-link.
As I sat here listening, the classic country vibe and your singing carried me back to when I was around 8 or 9 and travelling in the car with mum and dad. The image of driving to the city to visit my grandparents was so vivid in mind. It's been a few decades since I last thought about that. This is EXACTLY the sound and type of music that my parents loved listening to and would have playing in the car throughout the trip. Thank you for bringing back some really pleasant memories for me.
These lyrics work so well. The first verse is an excellent setup for what is to follow. And I love the way that you've managed to incorporate "remember" alongside it's polar opposite "forget". That's very clever hook writing in my book.
