This commonly used progression always confuses me in terms of what 'key' it is, and what scales to use over it ? For example A C D (is that the freebird solo) ?
I and IV are obviously major - but what is the deal with the bIII ? Can you solo within one scale, or do you need to change them up in this particluar progression ?
